A long melodic line, late at night
Midnight is an instrumental soul-disco piece: a lyrical melody carried over a steady dance pulse, with warm Rhodes, strings and a bass that keeps answering back. It starts intimate and grows, the way a night out does, then settles again before the end.
I wrote the melody, the harmony and the full arrangement. The performance was generated with Suno from my own material with detailed instructions, and I mastered the recording by hand.

Melodic musical stories
What I am after is a story told in a melody, personal in scale, theatrical in the telling, and carried by a natural sense of movement. I like the theme to speak directly, and the harmony and the voices around it to hold the tenderness and the tension.
What I enjoy hearing finds its way into what I write. Usually that means melody first, a Southern European warmth over Western harmony, and themes that develop rather than simply repeat. Everything else changes from piece to piece. One comes out as soul-disco, with warm Rhodes, strings and a bass that keeps answering back. The next might be a waltz, something cinematic, or small enough for a single piano. Each one chooses its own ensemble and its own form, and I enjoy being surprised by what it asks for.
Away from the piano I am the founder of OREGOR, where I design and implement software systems.
